Financial regulation and private finance for climate objectives

Contexte :
There is a common understanding that the scale of the of climate finance challenge necessitates a significant share of private finance. However, experience suggests that current levels are insufficient. Our work in this area focuses on the means available to public policy makers to facilitate private capital flows to climate-coherent projects. Our work currently focuses on the financial sector and its interactions with other stakeholders.
To date our analysis has consists of: creating a typology of these available means and actions; understanding the rationale used by different actors (see the study on the greening of the French financial system); and studying specific tools and proposals (see the study on SUMO policies).
