Carbon pricing policies around the world : case studies in 2015

In May 2015, I4CE, together with the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) and the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) published a series of 20 case studies on the implementation of carbon pricing mechanisms around the world. By examining the scope, flexibility and other design elements of carbon reduction programs around the world.
The series reveals that carbon pricing systems have common features aspects and unique aspects but also specific features. Whatever their stage of maturation, each scheme must overcome challenges, both technical and legal, to ensure the credibility of the system and the emergence of an effective price signal.
